Different Ways To Wear A Scarf

By

It's All About The Scarf...

SCARVES! The perfect fashion accessory to add instant glamor to your outfit. Fashionistas swear by the scarf and are always looking for new ways to wear them. So if you have been wondering what to do with that scarf which you bought a while ago and then thought otherwise, its time to take it out of your closet and try out these styles.

Here are 2 very simple reasons as to why you should invest on a scarf;

It never goes out fashion! In fact it is more often than not worn for style.

You don't have to spend big bucks to buy one. You can buy one for as cheap as 10 bucks and yet make a style statement with it.

The Long, Rectangular Scarf

This is the most common scarf available and the most versatile. Here are a few tips.

For the classic style, wrap the scarf around your neck and leave one end in the front and the other end at the back.

For the Boho style, wrap the scarf around your neck and bring both ends of the scarf to the front. Let the two lose ends hang uneven to give it a slightly messy look. You can either make a tight loop around your neck or let the fabric in front hang a little lose to give it a more casual look.

Try the classic style with a silk scarf for an elegant and sophisticated look or the Boho style with a jeans and a t-shirt for a casual look with detail.

To get the Parisian look, fold the scarf in half lengthwise and drape it around your neck. Through the loop of the fold pull the other lose end out. This sleek style can be matched with any outfit and can also be tucked into your coat during the winter.

The Square Scarf

This scarf is in the shape of a square and hence the name. Try out these simple styles.

Fold the scarf into a triangle and drape it around both your shoulders with the triangle hanging in front. Then bring the two lose ends forward and either tuck them in front or just let them hang lose to create the messy look.

For an elegant look use a silk square scarf. Fold it into a triangle, drape it over your shoulder so that the triangle is on your back and tie the lose ends in front or towards the side. This style looks classy when worn with a dress.

If you have a smaller square scarf, wrap it around your neck and tie a small bow towards the side. This style can be worn to work with a button down shirt.

The Infinity Scarf

This is the newest addition to the family of scarves. It is also called a circle scarf because it does come in a circle!

This scarf already has one loop. You can keep adding as many loops as you want (make sure you don't get choked my making the loops too tight!) by wrapping the scarf multiple times around your neck.

You can also add detail to your back by making one long loop hang towards your back instead of the front.

Pair it with a jeans and a t-shirt or a jersey for the everyday, casual look.

Wear a sequin infinity scarf with a backless dress with the "loop at the back" style to let all eyes focus on that sexy back of yours.

Add a thick, woolen infinity scarf to your wardrobe today to stay warm and be fashionable this winter.

This is a must buy this winter and a perfect cozy gift for the holiday season!

The Ruffle Scarf

As the name suggests this is a scarf with ruffles. A favorite among the knitting community, you will find many websites, blogs and write ups on how to knit a ruffle scarf. If you know how to knit then this is the time to try and make one for yourself.

Stylish and trendy, this scarf can be worn with any outfit which you think is too plain for an occasion. The ruffles do the magic of making your outfit stand out!

The crochet ruffle scarf is a wonderful asset to your wardrobe. It is thin and lightweight and an ideal scarf for the summer and the spring. Opt for a thicker, woolen ruffle scarf for the winter for warmth and style.

Ruffle scarves are great in summer too!

Since it adds a hint of detail with its ruffles wear it with a solid shirt, blouse or a t-shirt in the summer. They are available in lightweight cotton fabrics during the summer.

Other WaysTo Wear A Scarf

Use the scarf as a headband, as a sash around your waist or simply tie it around your purse to make it look preppy!

To create the Hollywood look of the 60's, fold a square scarf into a triangle, wrap it around your entire head and tie the ends in front of your neck. Wear this style with sunglasses and you are sure to look like a star. This style works best with a silk scarf.

For a vintage summer style, fold a silk scarf into a triangle and then fold the triangle several times so that it becomes narrow looks like a tie. Place the scarf on the back of your head and tie the lose ends into a knot or a bow. And there you have the cute, summer picnic look.

Tie your scarf as sash around your waist or just wear it as a belt.

At the beach use a big, square scarf as a sarong.

Or just tie a simple knot on your purse with a scarf and add that edge to your handbag.
